Michael was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, just 60 miles from the Canadian border. He
earned both a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the University
of North Dakota. Passionate about education and teaching, he had the opportunity to teach
several courses during his graduate studies and beyond.

After completing his graduate degree, Michael moved to San Diego, where he spent ten years.
During that period, he taught at a local art institute, worked for Greenpeace, taught himself front-
end web development, and subsequently began working at a web development company.
In 2017, when the opportunity to move to the Big Island of Hawaii arose, he seized the chance
and relocated to Keaau. There, he founded his own company, Hummingbird Designs, and took
great joy in helping local businesses develop their websites.

In 2019, Michael earned his real estate license and became affiliated with Hawaii Life Real
Estate Brokers. He specializes in listing properties and uses his creative energy to effectively
showcase his clients’ homes. In 2023, he transitioned to Corcoran Pacific Properties, where he
continues to pursue his passion for communication and shares his knowledge of the local market
to assist clients in buying and selling properties.

In 2025, Michael discovered a new calling and began researching law schools to pursue a Juris
Doctor (JD) degree. He is currently studying for the LSAT and looks forward to starting his legal
studies in the fall of 2026.

His commitment to honesty, truth, compassion, and communication has led him to Pacific Island
Law, LLLC, where he is excited to learn about the intricacies of the Hawaii State Court System
through a dedicated team of knowledgeable professionals.

In his free time Michael loves to travel and explore, enjoys walks in nature, playing guitar, riding
his bike, and cooking with local herbs and vegetables.
