This month marks one year since Pacific Island Law, LLLC opened its doors — and hearts — to families across Hawaiʻi Island. Since the day we opened, our mission has been clear:

In the past year, we have had the profound honor of representing nearly sixty families through some of the most challenging and transformative times of their lives. From navigating custody disputes and complex divorce proceedings to reaching co-parenting agreements and advocating for children’s best interests as well as the best interests of incapacitated adults, we’ve remained committed to one guiding principle:
We are the firm who listens when no one else will.
In a field where emotions run deep and outcomes carry lifelong impact, we believe that legal advocacy must begin with compassion. Listening — truly listening — is where trust is built and healing begins.
Growing Capacity, Growing Community
As we look back with gratitude, we’re also looking ahead with purpose.
The need for dedicated, culturally competent family law services on the Big Island and on the Hawai’i islands in general, continues to grow. In response, Pacific Island Law, LLLC is proud to announce the launch of our Internship-to-Associate Cohort Program — an initiative designed to mentor and train the next generation of family law attorneys who are committed to serving local communities with empathy, skill, and integrity. The applicants are already coming in from law schools all over the country, as hopeful students realize a meaningful future awaits those willing and able to help families-in-crisis.
This program will offer law students and early-career professionals a hands-on opportunity to learn the nuances of family law in Hawaiʻi, while also building lasting relationships with the communities they serve. The goal is, at the end of a sixteen-week thoughtful curriculum, when they take and pass the Hawai’i bar exam, they will join our firm in an Associate position! We see wonderful things to come for us and our community this year.
